Yum China is strategically positioned to drive growth and innovate in the world's most dynamic consumer market amid the country's ongoing push for open and high-quality development.

China's commitment to high-level opening-up — through business environment improvements, supply chain modernization, digital economy advancement, and green development initiatives — has created a stable and predictable growth landscape for enterprises like Yum China, the company said.

The quick-service restaurant chain has its development strategy closely aligned with government priorities, including boosting service consumption, supporting digital and intelligent supply chains, and promoting green, low-carbon transitions.

The broadening of China's market openness has enabled Yum China to strengthen local supply chain partnerships and attract top talent, while ongoing store expansion in both higher-tier and emerging cities offers substantial incremental potential.

The company aims to reach 20,000 stores by 2026 and exceed 30,000 by 2030.

Innovation remains a core driver for Yum China. In 2025, the company launched roughly 600 new or upgraded products. Its coffee unit, Kcoffee, expanded from 700 to 2,200 stores, adding new offerings nearly weekly.

KPRO and Pizza Hut have also targeted evolving consumer preferences, including lighter meals and younger demographics.

With Chinese consumers increasingly demand richer, personalized dining experiences, Yum China is capitalizing on this trend. The company said that foreign-invested enterprises are also accelerating innovation in China, reflecting the country's status as both a vast consumer market and a hub of dynamic innovation.
