Munawware Habibulla recently used her platform as a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress to advocate for the preservation of ancient texts, which she called a form of "living memory of the Chinese national community".

According to the deputy, these written works carry the historical threads of interactions, exchanges, and integration among ethnic groups.

Munawware Habibulla is an associate senior editor at the preservation and research center of ethnic ancient books in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. Over the past three decades, she has worked to collect, organize, rescue, protect, and research ancient books.

During the ongoing two sessions, she explained that these precious documents not only restore the historical facts of harmonious coexistence and mutual support among different ethnic groups in Xinjiang but also stand as testimony to how they have worked together to build their homeland and promote prosperity and development.

"Throughout the process of collecting, organizing, preserving, and studying these ancient books, my greatest wish is to safeguard this cultural memory, so that more people can truly understand that the prosperity of Xinjiang is an achievement jointly created by all its ethnic groups," Munawware Habibulla said.
