Take Dreams as Steeds, an ongoing exhibition at the Art Museum of the Beijing Fine Art Academy, guides the audience on a spiritual journey in which the horse, as a revisited motif, is embedded with rich meanings.
It begins with paintings by modern luminaries Qi Baishi and Xu Beihong, joined by other works from renowned artists who studied at the Beijing Fine Art Academy over the past decades. It displays depictions of horses in the classical ink style while incorporating expressive approaches adopted by contemporary artists.
The exhibition runs until March 22, and celebrates the spirited vigor of horses while revealing profound blessings concealed within the art.
