Chinese railway operators have intensified moves to transport more thermal coal by trains to safeguard coal inventories at power plants. As demand for thermal coal continues to rise this winter, coal transport is becoming more urgent. Staff members of Wan’an Station of Jiexiu Traffic Section in Shanxi province have precisely formulated shunting operation plans and dynamically optimized the use of arrival and departure tracks to minimize the dwell time of vehicles at the station. As an important national energy base, Shanxi provides stable coal supply to 24 provincial-level regions in China.
