Cross-border e-commerce goods are swiftly transported to Taiwan either via a dedicated express shipping line directly to Taipei Port, or through the flexible "Xiamen–Kinmen–Kaohsiung" combined route.

This forms the "Southern Channel" for cross-Strait express ocean freight developed by Xiamen, which features an innovative integrated supervision model where warehousing counts as port entry, release counts as arrival, and arrival counts as boarding. This system ensures a highly efficient logistics flow.

Xiamen has established a multidimensional transportation network, featuring the complementary "Three Direct Links" for direct postal, commercial, air and shipping services across the Taiwan Strait, and "Mini Three Links" for direct maritime connections between Fujian's coastal areas and the Kinmen and Matsu regions, supported by multiple direct shipping routes.

The city now handles approximately 70 percent of the Chinese mainland's cross?border e?commerce trade with Taiwan via maritime transport. The regular weekly shipping routes have become a "golden artery" for economic and trade exchanges across the Strait.

The proposals for Xiamen's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) explicitly call for improving the cross?straight direct sea and air transport system with Taiwan and building a "Xiamen–Taiwan–Global" corridor.

This includes optimizing the direct shipping routes under the "Three Direct Links" and "Mini Three Links", expanding the "Southern Channel" for express ocean freight to Taiwan, promoting the renewal of roll?on/roll?off passenger route capacity between Xiamen and Taiwan, and establishing a cross?border e?commerce distribution center focused on Taiwan.
