Austrian Karl defends Olympic gold in men's parallel giant slalom

LIVIGNO, Italy, Feb -- Austrian snowboarder Benjamin Karl won back-to-back Olympic men's parallel giant slalom titles on Sunday, with South Korea's Kim Sang-kyum taking silver.
The 40-year-old veteran trailed for much of the final but crossed the line 0.19 seconds ahead of Kim.
Bulgaria's Tervel Zamfirov won bronze.
Karl also has an Olympic silver from the 2010 Vancouver Games, a bronze from the 2014 Sochi Games and a gold from the 2022 Beijing Games.
