New cultural space opens at Beijing Capital Airport to boost 'Shopping in China'
To showcase the innovative development of traditional Chinese culture and boost the "Shopping in China" initiative, a cultural space named "Time Tells Stories · China Impression" has opened at the international departure area of Beijing Capital International Airport.
Targeting global travelers, the cultural space — jointly created by Capital Airport and People's Creativity — officially opened on Feb 6, and aims to enhance the influence of Chinese civilization.
Chen Jiayan, operation manager of the "Time Tells Stories · China Impression" flagship store, said since its trial operation, it has served more than 10,000 tourists, and nearly 1,000 people come to the store every day to visit, take photos and buy products.
"The most popular cultural and creative works include refrigerator stickers with intangible cultural heritage themes from various regions, ceramics with modern design, tea utensils, and original ethnic minority intangible cultural heritage handicrafts," she said.
