For this exhibition, Blazina chose handbags from the 1920s to the 1980s as her subject matter. Through meticulous casting and layering techniques, she reconstructs the traces of lives lived to create sculptural works with strong narratives. Each bag reflects its historical context and reveals the expectations society placed upon women, as well as the lifestyles of those periods, according to Loretta Yang, curator of the exhibition and founder of Liuli China Museum.
