Pakistan’s meat exports to China have seen remarkable growth in 2025, reflecting increased demand for high-quality halal meat and strengthened trade ties under improved market-access agreements. According to China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC), exports reached over $14.32 million from January to November, up from $4.23 million during the same period last year, marking a 239% increase. The surge highlights China’s rising interest in processed, high-standard Pakistani meat products.
Experts recommend further measures to boost exports, including expanding the list of GACC-registered exporters, investing in cold-chain logistics, and developing joint meat-processing facilities that meet Chinese food-safety and halal standards. Strengthening marketing through digital trade platforms and retail partnerships is expected to unlock broader demand across China’s growing imported-food market.
The growth is attributed to strict compliance with sanitary and phytosanitary protocols, promotional efforts at bilateral trade events, and GACC approvals for heat-treated meat exports. Pakistani companies have gradually gained certification for smooth customs clearance, enabling consistent shipments and positioning Pakistan’s meat sector to capture a larger share of China’s diversified protein import market.
