A seminar on the cultural heritage exchanges of Fahai Temple in Beijing and Fengguo Temple in Jinzhou, Liaoning province, was held in Beijing on Sunday, bringing together university experts, cultural scholars and industry representatives from Beijing and Liaoning to discuss the two national treasures.

The seminar focused on how they survive in urban renewal, their digital utilization, and the restoration and preservation of ancient architecture, fostering in-depth dialogue across regions.

Both temples are significant treasures of the country. The Fahai Temple, as an outstanding representative of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) imperial murals, is renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship. Meanwhile, the Fengguo Temple, with its Mahavira Hall, which is one of the largest wooden structures among ancient China's Buddhist temples, reflects the pinnacle of Chinese architectural prowess in the 11th century.

Scholars gave lectures on the historical and artistic values of the two ancient temples and scientific methods that can be used for the temples' protection.

They also provided suggestions on topics like the collaborative development of cultural heritage between Beijing and Liaoning, the establishment of a preventive conservation system for cultural relics and the application of academic research findings.
