At Hohai University, youth flows like mighty rivers — powering some of the nation's most magnificent engineering marvels.

Three Hohai University alumni: Xu Jianrong, chief designer of the Baihetan Hydropower Station, Lin Yifeng, chief designer of Donghai Bridge Offshore Wind Farm, and Zhang Jinliang, chief designer of the Yellow River Guxian Water Control Project, shared with China Daily their youth stories.

Like them, many other Hohai graduates are proving that the most passionate years of one's life are those shared with the nation's development. The most brilliant chapter of youth blooms exactly where the motherland needs it the most.
