Investment in Tajikistan encouraged
President Xi Jinping has called on China and Tajikistan to better align their development strategies and promote cooperation in various fields to build a China-Tajikistan community with a shared future.
Xi made the remarks when meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in Beijing on Tuesday.
Following the talks, the two sides signed multiple bilateral cooperation documents covering connectivity, green and low-carbon development and the digital economy.
Xi told Rahmon that China encourages more of its companies to invest in Tajikistan and supports the two countries in exploring cooperation in new energy vehicles, the digital economy and infrastructure construction.
He also said China is ready to deepen communication with the Central Asian country in disaster prevention and relief, healthcare, culture and education.
The two sides should consistently advance counterterrorism cooperation, jointly combat the "three evil forces" of terrorism, extremism and separatism, and step up coordination in multilateral affairs, Xi said.
Noting that both China and Tajikistan made tremendous sacrifices for victory in World War II, Xi called on the two countries to work together to advance world peace and development.
Rahmon said that Tajikistan is ready to expand cooperation with China in a wide range of areas, and welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in his country.
