A diplomatic delegation from 14 nations visited the Xixia Imperial Tombs in Ningxia Hui autonomous region on Wednesday as a key part of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's 2025 "Discover China Cultural Tour".

The Xixia Imperial Tombs, a sprawling imperial burial complex during the Xixia Dynasty (1038-1227), are nestled in the Gobi Desert. Built by the Tangut people between the 11th and 13th centuries, the site comprises nine imperial mausoleums and 271 subordinate tombs. Its outstanding universal value was recognized globally when it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List last month.
