CHENGDU -- Chinese wushu athlete Gao Jiushang won the men's changquan-daoshu-gunshu combined event with a dominant performance at the Chengdu World Games on Saturday night.

Gao topped all three disciplines, scoring a total of 29.393 points. Indonesia's Seraf Naro Siregar earned silver with 29.283, while Singapore's Jowen Lim took bronze.

"I'd give myself a perfect score for today's performance. I don't think I could do it any better even if I tried again," said Gao, who was competing in front of his home fans in Sichuan province. "It's a dream come true to win here in my hometown."

"Wushu is developing well because more people are joining in, making our small community much bigger," he said.

In the women's changquan-jianshu-qiangshu event, Sham Hui-Yu Lydia of Hong Kong, China, claimed gold with 29.260 points. Malaysia's Pang Pui Yee won silver, and Japan's Nanoha Kida earned bronze.

Earlier in the day, Malaysia's Tan Cheong Min dominated the Nanquan-Nandao events in the women's competition, winning gold with 19.479 points. Uzbekistan's Darya Latisheva and Singapore's Kassandra Ong earned silver and bronze, respectively.

In the men's Taijiquan-Taijijian, Hong Kong team's Yeung Chung Hei edged Japan's Tomohiro Araya by 0.05 points to take gold with 19.526. Singapore's Tay Yu Xuan finished third.
