Cross-border trips touch nearly 6m during 3-day holiday

Border inspection authorities across the country have seen more than 5.9 million cross-border passenger trips during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, which concluded on Monday, the National Immigration Administration said on Tuesday.
This is 2.7 percent more than in the holiday period last year, the administration said.
Sunday saw cross-border travel peak, with over 2 million people, it said.
A total of 231,000 foreign nationals entered China visa-free, a 59.4 percent year-on-year increase.
The authorities also checked 263,000 vehicles, 10.5 percent more than in the same period last year.
