Blast at residential compound kills one, injures 21

One person was killed and 21 others injured, including six critically, in an explosion on Wednesday afternoon in Shanxi province, with two people still missing as of 7:30 pm, according to a report by Xinhua News Agency.
The incident occurred at around 1 pm at Fengjing Jiayuan residential compound in the Xiaodian district of Taiyuan city. Firefighters and rescue efforts quickly responded to the scene.
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, it said.
The Ministry of Emergency Management dispatched a special task force to oversee rescue operations, while the city of Taiyuan has established an emergency command center to coordinate search efforts and assist victims.
