Lau's work, comprising photography and moving image, documents her father's journey from discovering cataracts to his post-surgery recovery.

Her still images Wildlands Behind, inspired by the observations of her father's treatment process, re-examine both her own and her father's physicality. The work features close-ups of body parts such as the ear, the eye, and the palm, encouraging viewers to reconsider their relationship with their own bodies as vessels for diverse life experiences and stories.

In the dual-channel digital video installation Blended Visions, the audience observes the artist's journey as she supported her father in his battle with cataracts. As his vision deteriorates, the father begins to depend on his daughter's eyes to perceive the world, reversing the traditional roles of caregiver and care recipient in the parent-child relationship. The video on the right simulates the father's blurred vision, allowing the audience to experience walks with him to familiar places such as the park and the teahouse, evoking deep empathy for individuals with visual impairments.
