What happens when Western art encounters Chinese ink painting? To answer this question, China Daily invited Russian contemporary artist Anna Kazmina and teachers from China Academy of Art in a cross-boundary artistic odyssey.

At Pan Tianshou Gallery, professor Han Lu deciphers the philosophy of ink-wash "negative space" through masterworks; in a stroll amidst the spring rain, professor Chen Lei unveils the anti-perspective secrets of landscape sketching; in collaborative workshops, Guochao design teams demonstrate how digital brushes rewrite the ink DNA for gaming realms.

Across three chapters - from ancient scrolls to gaming metaverses - witness how Chinese painting, guided by the principle of "learning from nature while staying true to one's inner vision", weaves traditional aesthetics into digital realities and how today's Chinese artists strive to keep these legacies alive.
