"Emerging markets play a more important role in the global economy today... China will shoulder the responsibilities of a major power that it should and can undertake," said Yu Yongding, an academic member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), at the Global Strategic Dialogue (2024) session titled "Responsibilities of Major Countries Amid a Dynamic Global Landscape", jointly held on Thursday in Beijing by the CASS and China Daily.
