A total of 97 major cultural and tourism projects involving nearly 48.5 billion yuan ($6.9 billion) were signed in Ya'an, Sichuan province, on Friday.

Twenty-one cities and prefectures in Sichuan witnessed the signing of the projects during the 2024 Sichuan Culture and Tourism Development Conference and the 10th China (Sichuan) International Tourism Investment Conference in the mountainous city known as the habitat of the giant panda and famous for its abundant farm produce.

The projects cover the development and utilization of resorts, the caviar characteristic cultural tourism town, science fiction base, 5G digital intelligence e-sports complex, according to the conference.
