Transformers One, the latest Hollywood film depicting the legend of the iconic alien robots, is scheduled to open across Chinese mainland theaters on Friday.

Set on the Transformers' home planet Cybertron, this 104-minute story revisits their youth, depicting the transformation of Optimus Prime and Megatron from brother-like friends to bitter enemies, sparking the long-lasting war on Cybertron.

A premiere was held at the Universal Beijing Resort and China Film Cinema in Beijing on Tuesday.

The movie has grossed a total revenue of 25 million yuan ($3.56 million) from presale and sold tickets to top the country's box-office charts on Friday, according to the movie information platform Beacon.
