Mainland strengthens steps to support cross-Strait education ties
The mainland has launched 20 measures to support the cross-Strait integrated development in the education sector, the Ministry of Education said on Wednesday.
The steps include supporting Taiwan students to study and develop in Fujian province, while encouraging Taiwan teachers to live and work in Fujian.
Educational exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan will be promoted, and deeper cooperation between universities across the Strait are encouraged, according to the measures.
The measures also support the integration of vocational education and industries in Fujian and Taiwan, and the provision of high-quality and balanced educational services in Fujian.
The introduction of the steps will deepen educational exchanges and cooperation across the Taiwan Strait and promote the construction of the cross-Strait integrated development demonstration zone, the ministry said.
