Foreign diplomats in China on Thursday watched the Chinese dance drama Poetic Dance: The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting, a production that has been staged more than 400 times across the country since its premiere in 2021. This year, the dance drama is poised to embark on a global tour that will bring it to countries including Singapore, Turkey, Canada, Russia and Japan.

The dance drama provided a different way to look at other paintings about nature and landscapes including those by famous Dutch artists such as Van Gogh and Rembrandt, said Nico Schiettekatte, counselor for health, welfare and sport at the embassy of the Netherlands in China.
