50 young couples declare their love atop Changbai Mountain
An event themed "Declaration of Love" was held on Saturday, the day of the Lantern Festival, at the Changbai Mountain scenic area in Jilin province, attracting 50 young couples from across the country.
During the event, young men holding roses went down on one knee and passionately declared their love to their girlfriends at the Tianchi Lake viewing platform, located at the top of the volcanic cone of the main peak of Changbai Mountain.
Organizers prepared surprises for the couples, including handmade yuanxiao (glutinous rice balls), hot spring baths, a fireworks display, and Changbai Mountain cultural and creative gift bags, creating moments of love and happy memories.
"The Changbai Mountain is very sacred to us, with its beautiful implications of faithful love," said Hou Shanshan and Li Yiran from Shanghai. "The Tianchi Lake and the snowy mountains witnessed our vows and carried our beautiful memories of youth and love."
