Shi Zhongjun, secretary-general of the ASEAN-China Centre, said the Association of Southeast Asian Nations has maintained a dynamic position in the world because of its choice of multilateral cooperation amid global turbulence.

The China-ASEAN cooperation, according to Shi, has born fruits through aligning the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025 with the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, which has helped improve people's living standards.

Shi said the two sides should enhance efforts in communication, economic integration, innovation-driven growth, and public support. Meanwhile, the center will continue to strengthen bilateral bridges in multiple areas, he added.
