Some assisted reproductive treatments like oocyte retrieval will soon be covered with basic medical insurance and work injury compensation insurance. The change was announced recently in a document issued by the medical security bureau of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
The change will come into effect on Nov 1.
The reimbursement ratios for the urban employee basic medical insurance and the urban and rural resident basic medical insurance are 70 percent and 50 percent, respectively, with no minimum deductible. These medical bills will also be calculated into the annual maximum payment limit for insured personnel.
