Foreign journalists welcome to cover two sessions
Reporters from overseas are welcome to cover the annual two sessions of China's top legislature and top political advisory body, the general offices of both bodies said on Thursday.
The first session of the 14th National People's Congress, the top legislative body, will begin on March 5, and the first session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the top political advisory body, will start on March 4.
Journalists from home and abroad can conduct interviews in various ways, including via face-to-face talks, video links and in writing — according to the announcement released by the general offices of the NPC Standing Committee and the CPPCC National Committee.
All journalists who want to cover the sessions should submit applications for approval.
Reporters from foreign media outlets should apply at the sessions' press center. Those from Hong Kong and Macao should apply at the central government's liaison offices in their respective special administrative regions, and journalists from Taiwan should apply to the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.
The deadline for applications is Feb 22. More information about the two sessions, the country's most important political event, is available on www.npc.gov.cn and www.cppcc.gov.cn.
