Icicles in Shanxi lure tourists, photographers

A recent sharp drop of temperatures in Changzhi, Shanxi province, has brought a spectacular winter landscape to the Tongtian Gorge Scenic Area, which is drawing lots of tourists and photographers.
Huge icicles on cliffs and rime frosted trees have created a white fairyland in this mountainous area.
The area is known for its Karst valley landforms and abundant water. Icicles appear when the spring seepage from the shale meets colder air.
