Onlookers were amazed on Thursday by the performance of athletes competing in a single bamboo drifting contest in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
Single bamboo drifting originated in northern Guizhou province and requires a person to stand or sit on a single piece of bamboo while performing various balancing movements. The sport, a Chinese national intangible cultural heritage, has gained popularity among youngsters in recent years.
