Several members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the country's top political advisory body, have put forward proposals on the building and improvement of a tracing system to ensure the quality and safety of agricultural products every year, which has promoted the standardization of tracing management of agricultural products.

Chen Mengshan, a national political adviser and director of State Food and Nutrition Consultant Committee, is one of the proposers.

"As national political advisers, we strive to promote the solution of the most practical problems of greatest concern to the people," he said at a news conference held by the CPPCC National Committee on Thursday in Beijing to introduce the proposal.

Residents in China pay high attention to food safety, and the tracing system of agricultural products is conducive to dispelling consumers' concerns, he added.

These proposals have different focuses every year, including policy guarantee, solving the problem of market and transport link tracing information chain, strengthening the grassroots agricultural products testing facilities, he said.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued a new agricultural product quality and safety information tracing management method in July, further standardizing the origin of agricultural products tracing management.
