Ceramic reflections
Dot: Zhi Min is an exhibition in which Zhi Min, the artist, explores the presentation of ceramics, a material of historical, cultural and artistic meaning in China. Drawing inspiration from the rich tradition of making ceramics, Zhi unfolds before his viewers an expansive view of the past, present and future of ceramics and the diverse forms the material can be fired into. In some of his ceramic works, Zhi also uses metal and gold, and shows them with the aid of sound and light effects. His works pay respect to the creativity of nature, wisdom and spiritual strength of ancient Chinese and to the universe, as depicted through clay when molded, fired and glazed to achieve a reflective, translucent shine. The exhibition is being held at the One Art Museum through March 30.
