As Spring Festival approaches, residents of Dongpingtou village in Pinglu county, Shanxi province, are busy with traditional preparations.
In cave dwellings, they make local foods, such as huamo (decorated steamed buns) and mahua (fried dough twists), and create paper cuttings for window decorations — all of which bring a festive atmosphere.
