NEW YORK - Top-seeded Novak Djokovic rallied past a vigorous opponent Alexander Zverev 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 to advance to the men's singles final in the US Open here on Friday.

After the tough game, the world No.1 needs just one step further to complete the calendar-year Grand Slam, a feat that hasn't been accomplished in men's tennis in more than half a century. Australian Rod Laver was the last man to sweep all four majors in a single season (1969).

"I know that people would like to hear me talk about it but there is not much to talk about," Djokovic said. "There is only one match left all in. I'm going to put my heart and my soul and my body and my head into that one. I'm going to treat the next match like it is the last match of my career."

The 34-year-old Serbian will next play second-seeded Russian Daniil Medvedev in the final.
