China to host 14th BRICS summit next year

China will take over as the chair of BRICS and host the 14th BRICS summit next year, Xi said.

China looks forward to working with its BRICS partners to comprehensively deepen cooperation in various fields and build even closer and more pragmatic partnerships to cope with common challenges for a bright future, Xi added.

BRICS countries have become an important force

BRICS countries have become an important force on the international stage to be reckoned with, Xi said. The bloc is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its formation.

Over the past 15 years, the five countries have enhanced strategic communication and political trust in the spirit of openness, inclusiveness and equality, respected each other's social system and development path, and explored a sound way for countries to interact with each other, Xi said.
