"2021 marks the 40th anniversary of my career. Forty years, I've been fortunate to travel the world, seeking inspiration, but no matter how far I go, I always come home to New York City. The city shaped me as a young designer and continues to nurture and inspire me. So today I bring my art to Broadway to support those wonderful, talented theater professionals."
Before the show, the live-stream started at Sardi's restaurant, where famous Broadway artists gathered, including Billy Porter, Bette Midler, Rosario Dawson, Debra Messing, Alan Cumming, Renee Elise Goldsberry and Ashely Park.
Singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright gave performance. Chinese fans can watch the online show on Weibo and WeChat.
