The 2022 Winter Olympic Games will open in Beijing on Feb 4 next year with the city's downtown area hosting all ice sports. The co-host city Zhangjiakou, Hebei province, and Beijing’s northwest Yanqing district will stage snow events.
Due to its geographical proximity to Beijing, Zhangjiakou is nicknamed "Beijing's Northern door" and "The Gateway to Beijing". The city features a number of ski resorts which are among the best in North China. Its long history, rich natural wonders, cultural heritage, music festival and delicacies also attract countless tourists.
