China and Russia have been working together to combat both the coronavirus and the political virus in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, and their cooperation remains a pillar of world peace and stability, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Sunday.

The more unstable the world is, the greater the need for carrying forward China-Russia cooperation, Wang told reporters at a press conference Sunday afternoon on the sidelines of the fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress.

China and Russia have agreed to renew the Treaty of Good-neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation between the two countries and make it more relevant in the new year as this year marks the 20th anniversary of the treaty, Wang said.
