Italian restaurant Bottega in Beijing was awarded the Top 10 Pizzeria in Asia and Top 10 Pizzeria in the World Outside Italy awards by pizza rating organization 50 Top Pizza. The restaurant will host a celebration ceremony for the milestone on Tuesday.

Located in Sanlitun area, Bottega was the only restaurant in the Chinese mainland that won the Top 10 Pizzeria In Asia; the others were Hong Kong's CIAK and Cicheti in Singapore. It's also the only restaurant in Asia to win the award for Top 10 Pizzeria in the World Outside Italy.

Nana Shinohara, co-founder of Bottega, thinks the award is a testament to the dedication of their master pizzaiolo Paulo Salvo and his team, who work hard to ensure the quality and consistency of their pizza.

"It's a massive honor for us as it's considered the Michelin equivalent in the pizza world," she said. "We will continue to strive to improve and uphold the tradition of authentic Neapolitan pizza."
