BEIJING -- SF Airlines, China's leading air cargo carrier, has been gearing up to meet nationwide logistics peaks by expanding its fleet and enhancing supports, according to the cargo airline.

It has seen its all-cargo freighter fleet reach 61, with the new addition of the B757-200F converted freighter, SF Airlines said.

The B757-200F has been put into service to meet surging demand from the nationwide Double 11 shopping festival and upcoming online shopping festivals such as Double 12 and the 2021 Spring Festival.

The expanded fleet will improve the company's capacity and fleet structure. The cargo airline has also injected resources into safety management, air-ground cooperation and professional training to ensure the efficiency of air express delivery during logistic peaks.

SF Airlines hit a new record during the Double 11 logistics peak, with daily flights exceeding 180 in number.

SF Airlines, the aviation branch of China's delivery giant SF Express, is the country's largest air cargo carrier. It operates a global air cargo service network connecting more than 70 destinations at home and abroad.

China's express delivery firms handled 675 million parcels nationwide on Nov 11, the Double 11 online shopping festival, an increase of 26.16 percent year-on-year, showed data from the State Post Bureau.
