Huang Songhe, a photographer with a focus on wildlife, published his book An Encounter with White-headed Langurs to mark this year's World Book and Copyright Day on Thursday.

White-headed langurs are considered some of the rarest primates on the planet.

The karst mountains of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region are home to about 1,200 of this critically endangered species.

For 17 years, Huang devoted himself to sharing the wonders of nature via photography while working in the region’s museum. His main interest is egrets, as well as the white-headed langurs.

In his book, Huang not only shares the mannerisms, behaviors and habitats of the langurs, but also delights viewers with more than 100 pictures. He wants to show people how to co-exist harmoniously with other creatures.
