Beijing will suspend the processing of exit and entry documents from Friday to Sunday, the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau said in a statement on Wednesday.
Travel permit processing halls, including those for foreigners, and acceptance points in police stations in Beijing will halt certificate handling services between Friday and Sunday.
Services will reopen on Monday, according to the statement.
Special channels will be available for Chinese and foreign applicants who need to leave the country immediately for special reasons, including receiving medical treatment for severe illness, visiting critically ill patients and dealing with emergencies abroad during the suspension period, the police said.
