Chile striker Castillo ruled out of clash with Peru
SANTIAGO - Striker Nicolas Castillo will miss Chile's international friendly against Peru next week because of a torn hamstring, the Chilean FA said on Monday.
The 26-year-old sustained the injury while playing for America in their 5-0 victory over Veracruz in Mexico's Liga MX last Friday.
Medical exams on Sunday confirmed that he will need at least two weeks on the sidelines, according to a statement by Chilean football governing body ANFP.
Castillo's absence means that Chile head coach Reinaldo Rueda will have only one central striker - Felipe Mora of Mexican side Pumas - for the clash in Lima on November 19.
Last week, the ANFP canceled a scheduled friendly between Chile and Bolivia in Santiago on Friday because of the ongoing civil unrest in the Chilean capital.
