PICC Group, one of China's largest insurance groups, launched its app on Thursday, as its latest effort to integrate the resources of all subsidiaries to better serve customers. 

According to Baitao, PICC Group's president, the launch of the PICC app is to better meet customers' one-stop service demands with more consistency. And in terms of technology, the app, based on an intelligent cloud network, supports Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) and 5G, making PICC the first domestic entity to use IPv6 on a large scale. 

For Lu Hui, general manager of the PICC Information Technology Department, all kinds of people can find suitable "one-stop" insurance products in the app.

"Internet insurance policies have increased 18 times in the past five years, and PICC has more than 200 million customers, of whom 75 percent prefer online purchases. Therefore, internet insurance has huge development potential in the future," said Liu. 

Huawei and Tencent will work together with PICC to support the insurer's technology upgrades.
