What they are saying in 'passage interviews'
Zhang Mao, head of the State Administration for Market Regulation
China will establish systems to subject violators found guilty of the production and sale of counterfeit or substandard goods to more severe punishments, including hefty fines and compensation for consumers. Violators will have all bogus or substandard products confiscated and destroyed.
A whistleblower system will be established to more effectively deter such violations. Through these efforts, we will force manufacturers of counterfeit or substandard goods to pay a prohibitive price for their misdeeds.
Market regulators across China will focus on key areas in tackling violations involving fake or substandard goods this year, particularly food products, pharmaceuticals, and products for use by children and the elderly.
