Origin Quantum Computing in Hefei, East China's Anhui province, launched the country's first quantum computer operation and control system also on Thursday, with completely independent intellectual property rights.

Guo Guangcan, director of the CAS Key Laboratory of Quantum Information in Hefei, said the control system is perhaps the most important part of the quantum computer, excepting the core chips.

Currently, most research teams adopt commercial equipment and devices to build a quantum computer control system, and because traditional instruments only input or output single signals, such systems have the problems such as high cost, poor compatibility, redundancy and difficulty in integration.

The new system, OriginQ Quantum AIO, will integrate control functions into a machine that can maintain complete control of the chips, making it simple and efficient to control the quantum computer.

Kong Weicheng, chairman of the company, said the chip is considered the brain and the control system is the backbone, connecting the "flesh and blood" — software, application and languages.

The control system will enable quantum chips to maximize their performance.
