6. Don Quixote
This production by the Ballet National de Cuba will be performed at the closing ceremony of this year's CSIAF. Based on the 17th century Spanish literary masterpiece by Miguel de Cervantes, the production tells of the love story of Kitri and Basilio. Renowned for its spectacular dance moves and portrayal of emotions, this performance is led by Alicia Alonso who is known for her portrayals of Giselle and the ballet version of Carmen. The troupe features a natural ebullience and sense of rhythm, following strict ballet rules. The ballet will be presented on Nov 22 and 23 at the Shanghai Grand Theatre.
