To grace the opening ceremony, Chinese young pianist Zhang Haotian was also invited to play 20-minute solo performance. Sept 24 marked China’s traditional Mid-Autumn Festival, so the rising star played Claude Debussy’s masterpiece Clair de lune.

According to Zhang, art is more than the elegant classical music in the concert hall, but the invaluable moments shown in people’s daily life. “My understanding of art is in line with the Song Art Museum’s founding concept, so it is a fantastic chance to play the piano here.”

Born in 1993 in Nanjing, capital of East China’s Jiangsu province, Zhang Haotian has been playing piano for 25 years. Admitted to the renowned Royal Academy of Music at the age of 20, the piano star has received many awards at processional competition both at home and abroad, and became the global educational and cultural ambassador for the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games.
