A boom in fruit pit carving turns a small fishing village in East China's Jiangsu province to a bustling home for more than 3,200 craftsmen generating sales revenue of up to 300 million yuan($46.35 million) each year and annual per capita income reaching 100,000 yuan in the village.

Fruit pit carving is a folk handicraft in China, which uses pits of peach, apricot and olive, and walnuts to create minute portraits. Chen Liang is such a craftsman running a workshop where he works with his apprentices in Zhoushan.
