UN official praises Xi's Belt and Road remarks

Mark Moody Stuart, vice-chairman of the United Nations Global Compact, said President Xi Jinping's remarks on the Belt and Road Initiative Tuesday are very impressive.

Apart from providing stimulus for infrastructure development of the regions involved, the initiative will benefit people as it will promote win-win cooperation, regional development and prosperity, he said.

The initiative is expected to play a key role in promoting the implementation of the United Nation's 2030 Agenda, as they both aim to achieve sustainable development, according to Stuart.
