Yi Gang, governor of the People's Bank of China and Party deputy chief of the central bank

Yi joined the People's Bank of China in 1997 and became vice-governor of the central bank in December 2007. He was elected by the country's top legislature last week to take the helm at the central bank. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Hamline University and a PhD in economics from the University of Illinois.
